Final Grade Summary
In the rush to create the next MySpace or the next Facebook, many people have created social networking sites in hopes the sites will become hot commodities they can sell for millions. So which platform is best for you to start your new social networking site?

You can enter into the game as a coder and write a platform from scratch (probably the best way to go) or you can use prebuilt software and get up and running in a few weeks, maybe even a few days. So what is the best Social Networking software currently available? Considering you are a slightly above average person when it comes to technology and writing code, writing a social networking platform from scratch, although probably the best thing to do, is not economical and not a wise use of your time. The next best solution is to use a prepackaged solution. This review is going to give you an overview of some of the more popular solutions to help you decide which approach is better for you. The focus of this review will be on Boonex's Dolphin 6.0, PHPFox 1.6, Joomla 1.0.15, Drupal 5.15, Ning, and Kickapps. Hopefully the review will help you save time, energy, hair, and money when deciding which software to use for your social networking and community web sites.

Boonex is a scam. If you pay 12 months hosting in advance and then you loose your debit card that the hosting was registered for renewal in TEN MONTHS TIME!
So this is 2 months in to your 12 month already paid hosting the direct debit is cancelled they then delete your whole site that has cost in building and advertising nearly $2000 est £1600 GBP ! as they are that stupid to think you would cancel hosting thats costs nothing after spending hundreds on building...SIMPLE WORD JOKERS LOOSERS...TRY CALLING THERE PHONE NUMBER IM SURE THEY RUN IT FROM MC DONALDS OR BURGER KING S PUBLIC LOO AS IT BLENDS WITH THERE SERVICE! sH17....PLEASE AVOID EVERCURRENT LIKE A ROBBER IN A SUIT ITS JUST ANOTHER BUNCH OF NO GOOD HUMAN CON ARTISTS! Boonex is a scam!

Thank you so much for the helpful article! I will agree that Dolphin comes with it's shares of headaches and to only buy it if you are a sadomasochist.

Wow! Thanks for your comment regarding Dolphin. Great to know. I almost bite into their 1K offer. Which it the free or the paid version which you've encountered with Dolphin? Also, which hosts did you worked with that found the security holes?

I totally wasted time and money on Dolphin. You want to talk security and Dolphin ... Dolphin has too many security issues. I changed hosts 3 times because I kept getting banned due to Dolphin security holes. I begged the hosts to install Dolphin for me since it was not supported, and then ended up getting booted due to code inclusion security problems. Worse software purchase I ever made!

You left out one very important fact of the review. I don't see SECURITY being on the list. This should be a major factor in deciding which software to go with.

I just wrote a glowing comment about your article and it disappeared when I typed in the letters too bad. I really enjoyed the article.
