Performance
For our test, we used a directory with 17,000 entries. Both searches were fast, but that is where the comparison took a turn for the worse ... for Mosets Tree! SOBI2 appeared to be slightly slower for a low number of entries compared to Mosets Tree. But once the test entries were all there and all 17,000 records were being operated on, SOBI2 was the clear winner. Mosets Tree was a snail once we crossed the 8,000 entry mark. We could start to tell it was bogging down at 4,000 entries. SOBI2 was pretty consistent over the life of the test. What made the test really look bad for Mosets Tree is SOBI2 ships with a 2nd and 3rd level caching mechanism which blew Mosets Tree out of the water! Keep in mind we are using the eye test and not any official benchmarking outside of Apache AB. Even AB shows Mosets Tree lagging behind by 2.5 - 3.5 seconds per requested transaction. Mosets Tree, for $119, does not include a caching mechanism. You can see the Mosets Tree directory in action at the Joomla Extensions site. Very slow performance.

I helped her customize the look and feel of SOBI2 and she is in love with the product now! So she paid for Mosets but doesn't use it! SOBI2 rocks!

Just thought I would point out that Sobi2 has an optional entry form template that allows you completely customize the data entry form, so you can place submit buttons at the top and bottom and anywhere else you wish.
