A Dallas police officer, Robert Powell, stopped Houston Texans running back Ryan Moats' SUV outside Baylor Regional Medical Center and attempted to hold Moats and his family in the parking lot while Moats' mother-in-law lay in the hospital dying. Repeated attempts to explain to the officer what the situation was went ignored by the officer who clearly abused his authority in this situation! It is unfortunate that this type of foolery would happen to anyone, but we as the general public are lucky it happened to someone with a high profile. Famous people can help expose these low-life cops who are abusing their power. What is sad is the little people like you and I are constantly harassed by officers like Officer Powell but no one ever hears about it. Now, Moats' mother-in-law died and Officer Powell still felt he just had to write a ticket and gave Moats a ticket for running a red light. Terrible use of an officer's discretion!

I have traveled all over the US and have encountered these bad cops everywhere. What I have noticed is most police departments have a majority of their officers unable to make simple common sense decisions! They show up to the situations with their minds already made up as to who is going to be right and who is going to be wrong. Any attempts to explain the situation truthfully will get a scaredy-cat officer placing his hand on his gun and telling you to shut up! The number of officers unable to make intelligent field decisions is as high as 75% I believe. I just see it happen to too many people in too many different places. We are placing losers in a uniform, giving them a badge, a cruiser, and worse of all, a gun!

How can we fix this system we can clearly see does not work? I hate to keep paying taxes to get subpar service. Officers harassing kids because they don't have the patience a normal adult should have when dealing with children, harassing people trying to get to the bedside of a dying relative because the commands he is unnecessarily barking go ignored. I'm sick and tired of sitting in McDonald's watching the news clip of officers being gunned down ... and the guy in the booth behind mine says the f*ckers probably deserved it ... and the guy at the booth in front of mine saying the peckerheads should have been shot. So I am not the only one out here who sees the injustices police officers bring to the scenes.

Officer Robert Powell is on administrative duty while his department investigates the incident. Why? Fire this clown already and perform better screening for the officer you hire to take his place! Let's clean up this industry and put our tax dollars to better use!

Just because some one isn't popular doesnt mean they are senile. Quit frankly if you think that you shouldnt be in everyday socitey at all. Just because someone is a "loser" dosen't mean they can't have every day rights like everyone else. So what if those people didnt have many freinds, obviously they are smarter than you because they are the ones telling you what to do. You seem upset just because you can't pick on them or tell them what to do. Quote:
I recently took a trip back to Rocky Mount, NC. I ran into a few people from high school who are now local cops. These guys and gals were total losers in high school and now they have guns! In high school, no friends, not popular, and now, they have power. That is not a good combination for getting good law enforcement.

I know that sometimes a policeman has to be aware of his safty in certain situations, but I believe police are not able to use common sence and are very abusive to the average citizen. Why? Because of their fear of things that could happen to him during his arrest making or stopping a speeder, but you cannot take innocent people and trash them like a criminal,or make them seem dangerous when they are not. Police are not above the law, and when they commit unnessary abuse they should go to trial just like a guilty criminal. Not just be dissmissed from duty. Sooner or later people will avenge these situations and start revolting.Yes there are good cops and bad cops, so feed the good cops and beat the hell out of bad cops.

How come these videos never make it on any of those COPS shows? Could it be that they don't want the "TRUTH" to be televised?

It's very interesting that this low-life "criminal with a badge" moved himself and the innocent citizen he was harassing out of the line of the camera. Don'tcha think that's VERY TELLING?

Try the cops in NYC, they really abuse their power! I saw a news special once about the New York cops and the testing process the recruits go through. If they score too high, they can not be cops on the street because they will be bored with the job and other reasons they mentioned. Very weird way to identify your street candidates, but that makes sense. So the guys in the field are the ones who scored low enough to qualify for the field. And these guys are given guns and badges to deal with citizens! NOT GOOD!!!
