I don't think there is anyone who is an avid fan of baseball who does not think Sheffield was using steroids. He had to be using them on a regular basis to keep his numbers up. Shef was good for a long time, but he was still good even after we knew he should have been washed up. The slugger has been cut with 499 career home runs and I personally hope no one picks him up so he stays at 499 home runs and fails to make the Baseball Hall of Fame. This will be the ultimate punishment for a really good baseball player who desired to be great and even cheated to try and achieve greatness.
