Week #8 of the NFL season is in the books. New England Cheaters, the Indianapolis Colts, and the surprising Green Bay Packers looked very impressive this week. The Colts and Patriots took care of business and setup the stage for the biggest regular season of the year ... actually, it is the biggest regular season game in a long, long time! If the Patriots win this game, they could very well try to go for a 16-0 undefeated season. Indy's schedule is just too brutal down the stretch to realistically think they can go 16-0, even with a win over the Patriots this Sunday.
The Patriots destroyed the #5 defense in the NFL, the Washington Redskins. The Skins looked like a Pee-Wee team as the Patriots stole their signals and blew them out, 52-7. The NFC South division leading Pathers were just mere kittens when they faced the Colts and were dismantled at home! The crowd booed as the Panthers could not get anything going. Monday night was a thriller in Denver as Brett Favre proved he still has some gas left in the tank by tossing long bombs on two of the best corners in the game, Champ Bailey and Dre Bly (I personally think this fella is overrated).
Other teams posting great wins were Pittsburgh, New Orleans, Detroit, Cleveland, Tennessee, and San Diego. These teams either stretched their divisional leads or picked up valuable ground on divisional leaders.
A few teams appear to have awaken from the dead and jumped out of the murky waters of death to now skating on thin ice:
- New Orleans Saints
- Chicago Bears
- Cincinnati Bengals
The following teams are currently dead in the water and barring a miracle, they along with their fans can begin looking to next season:
- Buffalo Bills
- New York Jets
- Miami Dolphins
- Houston Texans
- Atlanta Falcons
- Minnesota Vikings
- St. Louis Rams
- Oakland Raiders
- Philadelphia Eagles
- San Francisco 49ers
