The New England Patriots were manhandled in Super Bowl 42 by the New York Giants, 17-14. Plaxico Burress predicted the Patriots would score 17, but they fell short!
Let's all thank the Giants for a number of reasons.
First, the Patriots were boasting they were the greatest team of all time. Well, looking at how the teams with physical defenses slowed them down this year, we know other teams in the past would have slowed them down like the 85 Bears, 70's Steelers, and 80's 49ers.
Next, the Giants helped all the kids around the world see that in the end, Cheaters Never Win! The New England Patriots are the only recent cheaters who still get to participate as if nothing happened. Shawn Merriman is barred from receiving Defensive Player of the Year for performance enhancing drugs. Julius Peppers can not be Rookie of the Year for the same reason a few years ago. Barry Bonds gets an asterisk beside all his records and he has yet to be proven to be a drug user. However, the Patriots took home Coach of the Year and League MVP this year! They have players playing in the Pro Bowl! They lose 1 of their first round picks ... the lowest of the two first round picks they have. Talk about being fair.
Last, the Patriots made a cardinal sin ... they counted their chickens before they hatched! Shirts printed up with 19-0. Applying for a copyright on 19-0. Writing a book about the Perfect Season, 19-0. Not only did they prematurely do all this crap, but they offered the stuff for Pre-Order on their web site! How stupid.
Now, back to the game. The 2 yard dinks and dunks to Wes Welker finally lost their magic as the Giants employed the slight bend and no break defensive philosophy. Sure Welker had 11 catches, but only half were for first downs. Normally he is at the 80% and up mark for catches resulting in first downs.
Tom Brady, the Golden Boy, was pushed around all night by the Giants front 7. It was very funny to see Eli Manning engineer a game winning drive to win by 3 ... the same thing the Pats had done in all their Super Bowl wins.
 Bill Belichick has to be the most classless coach in the NFL. He cheats, lies on the injury report week after week, and left the field early after he lost. What a pathetic human being. We crushed Randy Moss for leaving the field early a few years back in a game his team was not going to win. We ridiculed LeBron James for doing it in an NBA Regular Season game! Belichick showed us all that he is no genius! Without the illegal films, he is just a good coach, not the great coach he as fooled us into thinking he is.
Lastly, when will these players learn to leave their superstar girlfriends at home. Romo played terrible in front of his honey bunch and then Brady did it in the Super Bowl. Gisele Bundchen was in the stands and she got to see her boyfriend pounded into the turf over and over and over and over!
It is hard for cheaters to change their ways and still think they can win. The Patriots almost did it this year, but the Giants played spoiler and smacked the bullies in their mouths. Congrats to both teams on a great season and super congrats to the Giants for their 3rd Super Bowl victory.
