Well, I have to give T.I. credit for appearing to finally realize how to play the game of life. Fessing up to his mistakes, warning kids of mistakes they can make but shouldn't, when to fight, when to walk away, etc ... all things I am sure he really wishes he had used in his life.
This is a banging track in general, down south feel to the beat, Twista/Mystikal type flow on the song. And the sounds of Justin Timberlake on the hook. We could have lived without Timberlake, but he's there nonetheless. The overall music and flow are weak, but his message is strong in the song.
The released tracks from T.I.'s "Paper Trail" album all seem to show he is reflecting on the mistakes he made recently. It will be interesting to see the type of material he releases after he gets out of prison. He's had a lot of time to think while being locked up so I expect he should come out stronger than before.
T.I. gets 3.5 out of 5 CDs for "Dead and Gone" featuring Justin Timberlake.
