I have been very hard on Soulja Boy since this music is put into the Rap or Hip Hop genre. I personally think they need to put this into some other childish, party, cute genre but we are stuck with it being in Rap. "Kiss Me Thru the Phone" actually shows he can be creative when he wants to be. He can't do it for an entire album, but this one song does show he as a little potential. The video helped a lot too with the elders kissing each other through the phone. Overall, Soulja Boy did pretty good with this song. The beat is slow like all his other songs which shows he is not comfortable flowing over faster beats. I know, I know, he has 1 or 2 songs where he tries to flow faster, but it's clear he prefers the slow beats with the 1-2, 1-2, AA, BB, CC rhyme patterns. He's a simple MC at best and this simple song is probably the best he has released to date.
