With everyone in a tight squeeze financially, people are looking everywhere for financial advice.
People should do alot of research and evaluate options themselves also. One should take time in learning the language, terms, and rules of the finance world, as well as looking past the credentials of financial advisors. They say credibility is the holy grail in the world of financial advising. The advisor who gives the impression of the most credibility. What people don't know is that there are around 100 different types of financial advisor credentials. Alot of organizations make up credentials that make the level of knowledge and expertise more than what it is. It is suspected that with financial advising there are diploma mills going around giving false credentials. In these times this makes navigating financial waters even more dangerous. These are different kind of predators waiting to take a bigger bite out of people struggling to keep their head above water. Senior citizens are almost always taken advantage of in situations like this. It would probably best and safe to seek out CPA's who are financial advisors(check their credentials of course) and Certified Financial Practitioners or also make sure to verify they are a Chartered Financial Analyst, which is well regarded in the field of managing money.
